House plans and designs made easy

When thinking of the perfect home plan it may include the need to re-evaluate the home as a place to live and grow in, an not as a  showcase of one’s income and social status to impress other people. Cottage style home plans and other simple, eco-friendly designs are becoming more and more popular as people seek ways to work with nature rather than against in, and in doing so pursue their personal comfort rather than impressing the Joneses.

In the first place, simple living implies a well designed smaller dwelling (Perhaps under two thousand square feet in size). Field stone or shingle sidings, and cedar shake roofs, are preferable for earth-friendly living than vinyl siding. A home plan with such a design makes a smaller footprint on the earth without sacrificing the function needed for comfort. Smaller homes are easier and cheaper to heat and maintain. Well designed smaller homes can also provide you with some great features in a smaller home space, as the excellent design makes optimal use of every available foot of floor space. For example there are log home cabin plans that are well under 2000 square feet and that have master bedroom ensuites and other comfort providing features.

Simple living implies letting one’s imagination determine what is truly needed to be comfortable (without worrying about what impresses other people). Thus, well-crafted (and occasionally quirky) architectural houses plans details may be favored. Exterior spaces such as decks, patios, and porches permit the house to engage its natural environment, so living can be maximized outside in nice weather.  Other architectural details associated with simple home designs include high-pitched roofs, low ceilings and cozy nooks, and floors of bare wood. Reducing the size of your home helps make for an energy efficient structure that can be truly comfortable for you and good for the environment as well.
